It is possible to reach by car the starting point of the monumental path to the Sacred Mount that starts from Domodossola.
The final stretch of the Sacred Mount path (Chapel 8-15) with the sanctuary of the Cross can be reached by car following the directions for Borgata Sacro Monte.
Access to the historical area by motor vehicle or bicycle is forbidden unless a special authorization is issued by the Sacred Mounts Management Authority.

The Sacred Mount (Borgata Sacro Monte) has two parking lots available.

The Sacred Mount of Domodossola is a monumental complex with inner paths connecting the chapels through steps, gravel and dirt roads, slopes and architectural barriers.
The disabled unable to walk or with reduced mobility may reach the church of the Cross by motor vehicle as long as it is equipped with a disabled blue badge.
Once off the vehicle, the vehicle must be returned and parked in the parking area.

From the Sacred Mount of Domodossola there are numerous hiking trails to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The via dei torchi and dei mulini trail (path of the presses and mills) offers visitors the opportunity to admire the ancient stone villages on the lush slopes where it is still possible to find the original stone structures for the cultivation of the local vine.

The "Cammino tra natura e spiritualità" (a walk immersed in nature and spirituality) is an ancient hiking trail between the Sacred Mount of Domodossola and "la via delle cappelle" (the road of the chapels) in Saas-Fee (Switzerland), following an old path used before the Simplon Pass was opened.
